Today I sent out a couple emails to movie-making clubs in the UK; I'm hoping to get a better perspective on the international culture of amateur movies. Personally, I'm eager to see what they say.

Two new sites: anyone think they should be links? Because I do.

www.machinima.org : Apparently, making movies using video games is called Machinima. I have no idea who coined the term (if anyone does, clue me in), but it seems appropriate enough. The Museum of the Moving Image seems gung-ho about making sure it's accepted as a serious art form, but they're also having a ton of fun with it.

www.listenup.org : A site with lots of teen-production activities, I've only just begun to absorb their page. A good friend of mine gave me a copy of "the groovy little youth media sourcebook;" it's good stuff, through and through, all focused on giving folks a voice in mass media. Check 'em out.

Finished with the new additions to the book! We've now got 2 checklists and a sample list, as well as a section on how to improve screenwriting and sketches.

As I was updating the files on CafePress, I saw that an order had just shipped out. So, Mr. W, shoot me an email, and I'll reply with the new bits as an attachment. BTW, you also have the fine distinction of being our first internet purchase by someone I haven't met. Thanks!

Also, I've decided to stop calling the current upgrade "2nd Edition," since it really just expanded on parts where the current one was lacking, and it only added about 4 pages of writing (though 8 total were added due to the extra blank spaces on pages). So, what do people want in the real 2nd edition?

After it's finished, I'll give out two free copies- one to the person with the suggestion that spawned the most sweeping changes in the text, and one to the person with the best suggestion involving... um... something that I'll figure out later. Maybe we'll have a vote.

Off I go to bed.

Working on the new content right now, and batch ordering books for distribution. Status is Alpha-Green!

Okay, I just made "Alpha-Green" up. But things are good.

Today: After breakfast, I leave for Moorestown High.

New Book Features coming!
I'm working on the next edition now. New info will include:
-A chapter on screenwriting
-Xeroxable "Checklists" in the back of the book for production stages, to make sure you're covering everything as you shoot
-Xeroxable Permission to Shoot forms: Just print'em and fill in the blanks.
-A couple more tips on how to ask for equipment and permission. Maybe a sample "resource acquisition letter."

Anything else you think we need? Post it on the boards.

If you buy a first edition, I'll mail you the new chapter(s) as soon as I finish them. Don't worry, I'm not trying to get anyone to buy multiple copies... I hate it when companies try to do that to me.

Also, I'll post Full-Size printable copies of the forms online, plus a Story Board template.
